Meet Nathanael Ulfers, Board Member Historic Port Royal, Inc

Nathanael Ulfers lives in his 18th century Port Royal home with his wife Selene and son Alonzo. He grew up in the Fredericksburg area appreciating the fabric and construction of its historic structures. He is now a professional woodworker and timber framer specializing in vernacular architecture and the early building traditions of the Chesapeake region, with growing experience in historic timber structures across a wider geographic. He teaches workshops on traditional building methods at Mary Washington University, American College of Building Arts, and the Virginia Military Institute.

Nathanael serves on HPR’s Building Committee and Events Committee. He is also a member of the Town Council and helps to keep communication flowing. In his down time, he helps out his neighbors and works in his own historic home.
