Bob Giles and his wife, Faye, divide their time between the Richmond area and historic Port Royal. He is a financial adviser and Executive Vice President at Davenport & Company, where he has served since 1967.
From boyhood, Bob has maintained a keen and abiding interest in history, architecture, and archaeology. That lifelong passion has translated into decades of active involvement in historic preservation. Since the late 1980s, he has worked to protect and promote Virginia’s historic resources, including thirty years of service on Hanover County’s Architectural Review Board.
Bob is a former president and board member of Preservation Virginia and has served as a board member of the Museum of the Confederacy. He currently serves on the boards of the Historic Polegreen Church Foundation, the Rural Plains Foundation, and Historic Port Royal, Inc. In addition, he serves on the Capital Projects Committee of the American Civil War Museum.
When not advising clients or pursuing his avocational interests, Bob and Faye delight in the enormous blessing of being grandparents to seven extraordinary grandchildren.
